My New Training Toy

So, to help with my training this year, I decided to go out and spend some money and get the new Garmin Forerunner 405 (GPS Watch).
This thing has it all, and is amazingly accurate...absolutely worth every penny!
I'll have a new training log entry up here soon enough. If you're interested in donating to the LLS, scroll down for link to my donation page!

First Blog - Daryl's Mission
As many of you know, I completed the 2007 Marine Corps Marathon, with a finishing time of 3 hours 21 minutes. It was a grueling summer of training (East Coast heat/humidity, training injuries, busy summer), and I wasn't sure if and when I would do another marathon.
After having some time off, I've decided to do the 2008 Marine Corps Marathon (26 October), but this time as a member of Team In Training (TNT) to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Team in Training exists to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's Disease, and myeloma.
I have set two lofty personal goals this time around:
1) Raise at least $2,000 dollars on behalf of the Society, a small portion of the $2 million that our Fall Team is aiming to raise.
2) Improve upon last years finish and join an elite group of runners to qualify for the Boston Marathon (finish time goal: under 3 hours 10 minutes)
